Hi folks,

I'm attempting to create a Zap that will send a Slack channel message when a new event is created in a shared calendar. I'm trying to use the Creator Email filter so that it only triggers when certain users create the calendar event. I can't figure out to change it to a specific email address from the default that is test@example.com. Screenshots attached.

Thanks for reading!

Hi @zipzapzipzapzipzap

Some Zap apps triggers/actions only return representative dummy data when in EDIT mode while configuring steps.

Try turning your Zap ON and testing live.

Then check the Zap Runs history to see the DATA IN/OUT for each step to help you trace and troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Thanks Troy.

I’ve confirmed the Zap is on, and Published.  Unfortunately, I’m not seeing any entries in the history with no search filters.

@zipzapzipzapzipzap

Zaps work while turned ON for new data going forward.

Which Zap app/event is being used as the Zap trigger? (looks like GCal but can’t tell the specific trigger event) tpost screenshots for us]

Trigger time for a Zap Run also depends on the type of trigger: scheduled vs instant

@zipzapzipzapzipzap

Have you tested by adding a new GCal Event after the Zap trigger step was configured and the Zap was turned ON?

Yes, several.  The built-in test function will send the Slack message, but the Zap won’t work because of the email addresses not matching.

@zipzapzipzapzipzap

If there are no Zap Runs, then that can mean an issue with your Zap app connection (https://zapier.com/app/connections) or how your Zap trigger step is configured.

Will research further.  Thanks again, Troy.
