Hi everyone! I'm trying to create a workflow so that every time a To-do is created in Basecamp, a correlating ticket is created in Jira. I've managed to set up the general workflow, but am having difficulty with the “Assignee” field. How do I configure it so that when I assign a task to someone in Basecamp it also assigns the correlating Jira task to them? The only thing that works for me right now is using the static Assignee field, but that’s not very helpful because I need to assign different tickets to different people.

I’ve also tried the custom format “Assignees name” but I keep receiving an error that no data is transferring over.

Thanks in advance!

Hey @nzf2025 ,

Please use below action on Zapier to find Jira user.

Take the user id from below action and map Jira - Create Issue

Hi jayeshkumarbhatia thanks for your reply, can you help me understand what they keyword here would be?

Hi @nzf2025

The Keyword is the value you will use to search for the user. It can be their name, email or Jira username. Since you have the user’s name, you can map that in the Keyword field: https://cdn.zappy.app/aed1c3e6e1e6c66b85cbb6cc3dd29826.png.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Marge every time I input a value in the Keyword function I get an error message on the testing side saying there’s no data found.

Hi @nzf2025,

Do you mind sharing the exact error message that you are getting? So we can tailor fit the resolution. Thank you.

Hi @nzf2025, if you run the same search directly in Jira, do you obtain any results? What type of value did you use when testing the Find User step? E.g. en email, first name, full name?

Since Basecamp returns the assignee’s name and email, you can use either value to run the search.

Please give that a go and let me know if the test is successful!
