How do I get more than 100 steps?

Hi and welcome to the Community ​@backoffice_IIS! 👋

Currently that 100 step limit is a hard limit. You mentioned the Zap is being used to do lead routing, is it routing based on the output from several different steps, or is it using multiple nested Paths to do the routing? 

Wondering if you might be able to reduce the number of steps by using our Lead Router app, or by combining multiple actions into an AI by Zapier or Code by Zapier action perhaps. 🤔 Do you think that could work?

Hey ​@backoffice_IIS! 🙂 Just wanted to check how it went with the suggestions here? Did you manage to restructure the Zap to keep it under the 100-step limit?

yeah this is a paths thing. Once you hit the step limit, split the routing into a Sub-Zap — keep the trigger zap lean, then put your formatter steps inside each branch instead of cramming everything into one zap. Kept breaking for me until I did that.

That limit is fixed, as SamB mentioned, so restructuring is the only real answer. Sub Zaps carry most of the weight, keeping the trigger Zap lean while branch logic lives elsewhere. Code by Zapier can also condense several steps into one, which often frees a surprising amount of headroom. Dylan's point about paths is worth heeding, since that is where step counts quietly multiply.
