Hi!

I have my zap working and am receving leads through the zap but the data is attached in an unformatted txt file. I’d prefer to pass the info to myself within the email I receive.

I’m using 2 zaps.

The first one is “webhooks from zapier” and is grabbing my chatbot chat from a tool I'm using called agentx.

The second zap is “email by zapier” which sends the chat over but not in the format I’d like.

I tried adding a zap in between to grab the data but I wasn’t successful.

I also have the ability to add a zap for the agentx tool I’m using.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @ramagetime

Resources for email parsing:

If you still need help, post screenshots showing how your Zaps steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode so we can see the field mappings, and outline a specific example for us to have more context.

Here’s the modified record that comes from the chat agent:

I have the chatbot on another site that sends to me like this so I was hoping to do something simialr.. so at the top of the email is the data it collects and then the chat thread below.

And this is how its currently sending so I have to open the txt file.

Here’s how I have the send zap setup:

Thanks Troy! I’ll check the article you referenced too.

@ramagetime

You have variables mapped to the Attachment field that should be mapped to the Body field.

Also, to format the chat content you will need to use this Zap action: Formatter > Utilities > Line Items to Text

I mapped to the body field and got the data inside the email now. Thank you!

As far as adding the formatter do I do that after the last zap?

@ramagetime

You would add the Formatter before the Email step, then map the output of the Formatter step to the Email Body field.

Thanks so much Troy!!

Got it!

That’s awesome @ramagetime! A huge thanks to Troy for lending a hand and pointing you in the right direction!
