How do I filter my Zap so that it disregards spam and automated system emails?


I have a zap that adds emails to my Mailchimp subscribers. However it currently adds any email including spam and automated system emails etc. I’m looking for tips on how to filter this zap so that it only adds email addresses for people and not “noreply@paypal.com” for example.

Hey @tequionbrookinsllc! To build on what Troy said, you can add a Filter step into your Zap between Gmail and MailChimp to exclude certain kinds of emails. You “noreply@paypal.com” was a great example!

So, after adding the step, you would set your Filter conditions to read:

From Address > Does Not Contain > noreply

You can add additional “AND” conditions in the same step to filter out other email address keywords as well. 🙂

Try adding a Filter as Step 2 in your Zap: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help
