I have a google sheet → Sugar zap that is mostly working. I’m having trouble filling in the “search and select” type fields. For example “Assigned to user”. I have tried to put exact matches (text) in the google sheet but it’s not pulling anything over.

Does anyone know the best way to approach this? Do I need to add a “search” step? I would rather not due to how many tasks that would take.

Thank you!

Hi @aprilfisher01,

Before we dig deeper into this, would you mind sharing a detailed screenshot of how your Zap is configured? Also, please share a screenshot of the “CONFIGURE” section of the action step that shows all of its fields in EDIT mode.

Please don't include personal information in the screenshot, or be sure blur out any personal information.

Thanks!

Hi @ken.a  here is the screenshot of the configure section of the Zap.

Hi @aprilfisher01,

In SugarCRM, fields like "Assigned to user" typically require user IDs rather than text names, which can cause issues when pulling data directly from Google Sheets. To resolve this without adding a "search" step, you can create a lookup table in Google Sheets to match usernames with their IDs, or use a Formatter by Zapier to match names to IDs if they follow a pattern. Some fields may still accept exact text matches, so ensure formatting is precise. If these options don’t work, a search step might be necessary.

Hi team,

The Assigned to User has now updated using the IDs. Thanks for your help, but I am still needing to update the Account name, I have tried both actual account name and the account name ID but still doesn’t update when pushed, the account name appears still to be blank. Can you help me on this please? Thank you!

@aprilfisher01

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing how the Zap step is configured in EDIT mode so we can see the field mappings for the field in question.

Hi @aprilfisher01,

Just to advise, when posting a screenshot to the Community, it is essential to obscure any sensitive information within the screenshot for security purposes. Thank you. We're looking forward to troubleshooting your issue further.

Hi team here is a screenshot. Please note that I have tried using Account Name, Account Names, Account ID, but still returning blank in Sugar.

Hi @aprilfisher01,

I don’t see any issues with the Zap setup at this point. However, have you tried reconnecting your SugarCRM? After doing that, please republish the Zap and test it while it’s active. Check the Data Out from the Zap run in the Zap History to see if the data is being passed correctly.

I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!
