In the body text of an email will be this. How do I set up the Zap to extract just the number (which could be $5, $31 or something else) from the body of the email. 

It will always be the the number immediately following “Plan:”

Email parsing resources:

 

This doesn’t tell me HOW. I want to know the exact steps to follow in Zapier. 

I’ve tried: 

  1. Formatter
  2. Extract Pattern
  3. Input: Body Plain
  4. Pattern: Plan:\s*\$(\d+)
  5. All other set to “True”

It does not work/extract the value.

For us to have full context, post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode with the field mappings/settings visible.

It may depend on which email body format you are using: HTML or TEXT

Can you post screenshots from Zap step 1 that show the DATA OUT for the Body Plain variable you are using in the Formatter step, so we have true context about the format/structure of the values.

The DATA OUT from Zap step 1 would come from the TEST tab.

What are the results from the Formatter step in the TEST tab after testing? (screenshot)

Worked when I tested with your RegEx pattern.

Variable Output 0 = 5

 

 

 

I can’t get it to do that. I get no output. 

And the input can’t be typed. It has to come from the body text of the email.

I did that- second attachment (Zap 2) Screenshots are there.

Your previous screenshots do not show the DATA OUT from the TEST tab in Zap step 1, nor screenshots from the results of testing the Formatter step.

 There is nothing to scroll either.

Did you try retesting the Formatter step?

 

 

If there is no match, then it should look like this:

 

yes. Multiple times. I continue to get: 

 

 

Strange. Now on Step 4 (Add to convertkit) it shows me this. But still blank in Data Out in Step 3. So maybe it is working now….? 

 

 

And it did indeed push to convert kit:

Try turning the Zap ON and testing live.
