You can use the ‘Custom’ tab to map dynamic variables between Zap steps.
If you still need help post screenshots with how your steps are outlined and configured.
Hi @Troy Tessalone ,
Many thanks for your quick response.
I’ve added a screen shot below. The trigger comes from the Task object in Salesforce and I want the due date, assignee and subject automatically map to the fields in Asana. No matter what I populate the zapier workflow with I can’t get this information across.
@Debs Hayden Waters
You would need to map variables across Zap steps to the desired fields, similar to what you did for the Description field that has a “Subject” variable.
Ok thanks. I had tried mapping the fields in previous attempts and even the subject variable in this example is not working. I was hoping someone had tried it before and to show me what they had mapped that worked.
Hi @Debs Hayden Waters,
I’m jumping in to see if I can help!
Based on your workflow, I think the “New Record” trigger fits more perfectly for your desired workflow. Here’s how the Zap would look like:
Trigger: Salesforce - New Record
Action: Asana - Create Task
I believe the “New Record” trigger should be able to return the fields you’re looking for as well.
Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!
Thanks but that doesn’t work either.
No matter what I try I only get the information as a comment and no asana fields populated.
Thanks for giving my suggestion a try @Debs Hayden Waters.
I’d recommend reaching out to our Support Team regarding this one. Our Support Team has the correct tools to look closer at the Zap and its logs to determine the cause of the issue here.
