Automation for Clickup

  • How can system auto-create 10 tasks upon creating a new folder? The tasks should be within the new folder created in the system.
  • How do I create a completely inter-connected or dependent tasks in 2 different workspaces?

Hi @PV88,

Welcome to the Community.

ClickUp doesn't natively support creating tasks when creating a new folder, but this can be achieved using Zapier. To do so, set up a Zap with ClickUp's "New Folder" as the trigger and "Create Task" as the action, repeating the task creation step 10 times. Another Zap can be set up to create dependent tasks across different workspaces using ClickUp's "New Task" trigger to specify the dependency. These automation require some technical setup, and it's advisable to consult ClickUp's and Zapier's documentation for detailed guidance.

Hi Jammer,

Thank you for the response. I’ve been getting familiar with Zapier & Make to create automations but wanted to check if ClickUp natively supports this.

Also, the idea here is to create 10 tasks under the new folder, would that be possible? I tried using the automation which helped me in creating tasks outside the folder but that’s not the expected result. Can you help?

Hi @PV88,

Sure, I'm here to help.

In order to create tasks under a new folder, navigate to the space, click "+ Add" next to the space name, and create a folder. Create a list and add tasks inside the folder by selecting "+ New task." You can also automate the process by setting an automation to trigger task creation in a specific list or folder.

We hope this helps you jump-start your Zap.
