Hello,

it’s my first time building something on Zapier, so I hope to learn from your replies! And thanks in advance to anybody who will reply :)

We have an accountability group where we want to help people wake up early. And we want to create something where for example, by default you will be charged $1 per day from stripe (we can do that weekly if that helps), unless you send a message in the group before 8AM saying: Hey guys I am awake!

I have zero coding skills, so I am looking to modify my idea to make it fit Zapier, as long as it’s functional.

The zaps needed:

Step 1

User verifies his card through stripe, maybe with a small charge, and when done, he will join the Telegram group.

Step 2

When the user in Telegram group doesn’t send a message before 8AM, he will be charged $1 from stripe for that day.

Step 3

Repeat daily for all users in the group
 

I have a gut feeling that there’s more than these simple 3 steps, but I have a bit of a foggy perception of this. So I hope you will help me find some clarity!

The Stripe API would have to be used to create a charge: https://stripe.com/docs/api/charges/create

Thanks for your reply. I would appreciate if I could get more details. Being my first time, I am already confused 🙂 so while your tips are better than nothing, I hope you or someone else can jump in and give me a more detailed answer.

Some options for help:

I hope someone else can jump in with a more detailed answer to my specific query. I have been looking into this I found this Zap now:

New Subscription in Stripe > Send Message in Telegram

Does this mean the message is sent in telegram to the person who just completed the subscription?

 

It would be great if when the person subscribes in Stripe, his phone number / telegram username is taken at the time of signing up and a message is sent to him with the invitation to join the group.

Unfortunately, the Telegram integration can only send messages to a channel as long as your bot is part of that channel. I’d recommend reaching out to our Support Team to create a feature request on your behalf.
