Hello! 

I am trying to set up accurate renewal opportunities in HubSpot, and we often run into this:

  1. New deal closes -> identical renewal opportunity generated automatically
  2. Midway through the contract term, there is an upsell that is prorated to renew with the account's main contract
    • Now, the renewal Oppty's value is inaccurate

The most favorable option would be adding the line items from the upsell to the existing renewal deal automatically using Zapier without overriding the current contract value but adding to it. 

 

 Does anyone have any experience in getting this to work? 

I have tried to use ‘Find_Line_Item’ but am new to Zapier so not confident in my workflow.

To automate upsell tracking in HubSpot using Zapier, create a Zap triggered by a "New Deal" or "New Line Item in Deal" in HubSpot. Use actions to find the renewal deal and update its value with the new deal's amount. Similarly, find the corresponding line item, update its value with the upsell, and update the renewal deal's total value to reflect these changes. Customize and test the Zap to fit your HubSpot setup, and consult Zapier's learning center for detailed guidance.

Thanks so much for your response! I gave this a go today, but I hit a bit of a snag when trying to find the renewal deal. I have the Company Record ID available at Deal Level to make the association, but when I try to ‘find deal’, I’m not seeing an easy way to identify the connection between the two to take the next steps.

Any tips on how to find that link? Appreciate your help!

To associate a renewal deal in HubSpot with a Company Record ID, identify the corresponding field in HubSpot (default or custom), use the 'Find Deal' action in Zapier with the Company Record ID as the search term, and test the Zap to ensure accuracy.

I simply want to find the associated Renewal Opportunity in-order to update the deal, with additional filters such as Pipeline, Stage etc.

It seems I would want the Associated Company Record ID as the Search Property Value, rather than the Search Property Name but I cannot find it upon search, although I would likely need an alternative Search Property Name? Am I missing something here?

To find a related opportunity in your CRM using Zapier, use the associated Company Record ID as the search value. In HubSpot, use the "Search Deals" action and select "Associated Company IDs" for the search property. If the Company Record ID isn't available, try using another field, like the deal name or owner.
