How can I use Twilio to send WhatsApp messages via a client's business profile in a lead nurture automation?

Im building a lead nurture automation (sending content/messages via whatsapp and email)

I want to use twilio to send whatsapp messages to leads using our client's whatsapp business profile.

Assuming our client has a twilio account, and has created a whatsapp sender in twilio (connected his whatsapp business account from fb business manager to twilio),

How can achieve this functionality?

For anyone coming across this in the future: the Twilio app has since added a Send WhatsApp Message action! 🎉

That will likely involve using the Twilio API: https://www.twilio.com/docs/whatsapp/quickstart/curl

OR

Try using the available AI to create a Custom Action for the Twilio Zap app:

Hi @RissheG,

I did some digging into this, and it seems like the WhatsApp API in Twilio is not supported at the moment. However, we have an existing feature request for this exact functionality.

I have added you to the open feature request. That does a few things:

  • Bring this to the attention of the integration developers
  • Help track interest in this feature being implemented
  • Allows us to notify you via email if this feature becomes available in the future

While I don't have an ETA on when this feature might be implemented, we will notify you via email if it is!
