I can’t figure out what trigger to use in Zapier to set up a flow where a Slack Message is sent to the person who is @ mentioned in a Salesforce Chatter. Any guidance?

Hi @cfalcone01,

Have you tried using the “New Outbound Message” trigger in Salesforce? Does it meet your desired workflow?

More about on how to use the “New Outbound Message” trigger here: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496020846605-Tips-and-tricks-with-Salesforce-triggers-and-actions#use-the-new-outbound-message-trigger-with-workflow-rules-0-0

I'll be keeping an eye out for your response!

@ken.a I’ve set up the outbound message and flows in Salesforce using the provided Zapier webhook but when I post in a Chatter, the Zapier trigger is still not finding my message. I’ll provide screenshots below for reference:

We’ve renamed our “Case” object to be “Ticket”

The chatter Post I added to a test ticket

It’s not pulling this ticket into my list when I click Test Trigger

Hi @cfalcone01,

Thanks for giving that a try!

It looks like it might be best to use the “Updated Record” trigger and choose the “Ticket” as the object. Could you please try using the “Updated Record” trigger instead?

Kindly give it a try and let me know how it goes? I'll keep an eye out for your response!

@ken.a So I’ve set up the Trigger to be “Updated Field on Record in Salesforce” and that SF Object is “Ticket Internal Comment” but I’m having a hard time finding a test record in the “Test” tab that contains an @ mention. I keep @ mentioning someone on a test ticket but it isn’t pulling through :/

Can the Zap not trigger off of a custom (input by human) internal comment?

Hi @cfalcone01,
