looking for a way to parse the email address - part of the error email receive when i hit an issue.
I want to trigger the zap once i receive an error (thats easy) and send an email from my inbox with data from the error message

Hi @BarDanosh

Email parsing resources:

Thanks @Troy Tessalone

I need the parsing to be from the zap history report, the email sent for the error doesn’t contain the data needed.

I see “new zap error” trigger, but i don’t see a way to parse/fetch the data inside that error log.
Is that possible?

Hi @BarDanosh 👋

The New Zap Error trigger for Zapier Manager wouldn’t share the error log itself, but it would share the error message that the Zap ran into. You mentioned that you’re looking to parse the email address from the error email, is the email address contained within the error message? E.g. “Error: Email johndoe@gmail.con is invalid.”

If so, perhaps you could use Formatter’s Extract Email Address function to pull the email out of the error message? You can learn more about that transform function here: Extract data in Zaps > Extract Email Address

Hope that helps to get you pointed in the right direction. If I’ve misunderstood what you’re looking to do here or you run into any trouble on that just let us know! 🙂

@BarDanosh

For us to have more context, post screenshots and provide more details by outlining a specific example of the desired inputs and expected outputs/outcomes.

@Troy Tessalone see attached screenshot.
I would like to trigger the zap every time i have an error (that’’s easy)
but i want the result to be an email sent from me to the support inbox, containing the email data inside the log (attached image, blurred/hashed)

my end goal is that support will get notified regarding errors in the automation immediately and will be able to reach out to the prospect without me having to fetch the data from the platform

Hi @BarDanosh

Try adding an Error Handler step: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/22495436062605-Set-up-custom-error-handling

OR

Try using this Zap app: Zapier Manager

thanks @Troy Tessalone, the error handler is the way to do this!

Yay! 🎉 That’s great news @BarDanosh. I’m so pleased you were able to get things solved using an error handler as Troy suggested - nice one @Troy Tessalone! 🙌

Seems like you’re all set for now but please do reach back out to the Community if you ever need assistance in future. Until then, happy Zapping! ⚡️
