Question

How are you automating image-to-video creation for social content with Zapier?

Has anyone here built a Zap to automatically turn product images into short videos for social media?

I’m working on a workflow where a new image or product gets added from Shopify or Google Drive, then a short video is generated and saved back to Drive or queued for posting. The goal is to avoid manual video editing every time and keep content consistent.

I’ve seen people mention tools like Runway and Veo for the video step, but I’m curious how others are wiring this together in practice. Are you using webhooks with external tools, Zapier’s AI actions, or a hybrid setup?

@AD WRITEES You can do this with a hybrid setup. Trigger on new images from Shopify or Google Drive, then send them via Webhook or API to a video tool like Runway or Veo to generate the video. Once the video is ready, use another step to save it back to Drive or push it to your social media scheduler. Zapier handles the automation; the video tool handles the rendering.

Hey there @AD WRITEES 👋 How did you get on with the approach Hassaan Khan’s suggested? Were you able to get everything up and running?

Let us know how it went. Happy to lend a hand if you got stuck at all! 🙂

Yes, this is pretty common and usually done with a hybrid setup.

Typical flow is Shopify or Google Drive as the trigger, then Zapier handles the logic, and a dedicated video tool does the rendering. Most people use Webhooks by Zapier to send the image and prompt to tools like Runway, then catch the finished video and upload it back to Drive or queue it for posting.

Zapier AI actions are handy for generating captions or video prompts, but the actual video creation usually lives outside Zapier for now. Formatter and Storage by Zapier are often used to keep naming, duration, and style consistent.
