I am trying to send Lead information from Facebook Messenger into a Google Sheet. I am having issues getting the information out of messenger into the google sheet and am not sure what I need to do. When I select the form, it just has a messenger number whereas the messenger chat bot has a name in Facebook.

To clarify, from Facebook I am placing a Lead objective with a message template as a chat where a lead will give me name, ph number and email within the chat under custom fields.

Can anybody send me to a link to help set this up correctly?

Hi @Zesty,

Thanks for the question!

Facebook Messenger has the following trigger available: https://zapier.com/apps/facebook-messenger/integrations#triggers-and-actions - New Message Sent to Page.

To use Facebook lead information in your action, you may want to look at Facebook Lead Ads instead: https://zapier.com/apps/facebook-lead-ads/integrations#triggers-and-actions - the New Lead trigger would provide name, phone, email and other data from your leads once they complete.

The permissions for Facebook Lead Ads need to be just right to get that data into Zapier, and we have the steps described here: https://zapier.com/help/doc/common-problems-facebook-lead-ads

Hope this helps!

Just wanted to follow up here as @Zesty reached out to Support who confirmed that the we don’t get the chat bot names, only their IDs.

I’m sharing their suggestion here in case it’s helpful to others also looking to identify which form to select:

“Although it's not available in Zapier, you can have access the messenger IDs using this path Facebook > Publishing Tools > Forms Library. Once you have managed to find the ID of the form you would like to use, you can search for it in the Zap editor”
