Question

Help automating blog posts from RSS via Flodesk subscriber list?

Hello,

I’m brand new to the blog world and am trying to figure out how to automate my new blog posts. I have a Flodesk subscriber form because someone recommended Flodesk, but it doesn’t have an RSS feed to automate blog posts...which I didn’t know. Flodesk help suggested I come to Zapier to link the RSS feed, and I as able to do that part, but I don’t know what I should be doing to connect my Flodesk email subscribers. Can anyone else my with the exact steps I need to make sure the Flodesk form subscribers automatically get an email when I put up a new blog post?

Thank you!!

Hi @mlb357,

Welcome to the Community.

Automating blog posts to Flodesk subscribers keeps them engaged and updated. To set this up in Zapier, create a new Zap with 'RSS by Zapier' as the trigger (using your blog's RSS feed) and 'Flodesk' as the action to create an email. Connect your Flodesk account, design the email using RSS feed data, and add subscribers to a specific segment. Test the Zap, then turn it on to automatically email subscribers whenever you publish a new post.

If you encounter any problems, don't hesitate to ask for help.

Hey @mlb357, just checking in—I saw that you also reached out to our Support team about this but didn’t see a reply from you. Were you able to get this sorted with their suggestion and Jammers’s advice here?

In case it’s helpful for anyone else coming across this with a similar question in future, Support suggested:

“The Flodesk Integration doesn't currently have any action events to Send emails to a List. Flodesk has said that all of their emails are triggered by workflows that can be created in Flodesk.

So to make this work, you'll want to create a workflow in Flodesk that can be triggered using the 'Add Existing Subscriber to Workflow" action.

Here's what you need to do

  1. Create a FloDesk Workflow that triggers on Subscriber Added to Workflow, and sends an email to the List.
  2. Replace the "Create/Update Subscriber" action in your Zap with "Add Subscriber to Workflow" Action.

Here's Flodesk's documentation on creating workflows: https://help.flodesk.com/en/articles/3200783-how-to-create-your-first-workflow
