Hello, it seems that when testing a filled out “Find Folder” or “Create Folder” action, it successfully creates the desired folder in the proper directory per the setup, and I am able to pass the folder ID correctly down the ZAP.

However, when I test, these actions are also creating, a Folder with the same specified name in the root of my Google Drive. I don’t believe this is intended and I am hoping to find a fix.

I am not sure that this is happening when the ZAP runs normally. I am about to execute this ZAP organically and will look to see if a copy of the folder is made in the root during a normal run as well.

Hi @Walking Comfort

Please post screenshots with how your Zap steps are configured, thanks.

Also, make sure there isn’t another Zap ON that is being triggered.

Check your Zap Runs history to see the DATA IN/OUT for each Zap step: https://zapier.com/app/history/

I have attached a photo album since there were too many images to include in the body of the reply.

I have omitted Step 9 Path C from the screenshots, as all that does is send an email that the approval was denied.

There is only 1 ZAP that triggers when that Zoho form is filled out account wide. So there should not be any other ZAPs running simultaneously.

Data IN/OUT on the Find or Create Folder step looks acceptable when it is tested and when the ZAP is ran. I even tested it while collecting screenshots, and another Folder was created in the root as described. I have attached the test data out.

It does not look like a folder is being created in the root when the ZAP is ran organically.

Here is the Data OUT text for the Find or Create Folder action test.

@Walking Comfort

So when you tested LIVE there was no issue?

Yes, when the ZAP runs organically, no duplicate folder is made in the root directory.

But when the step is tested inside the ZAP builder, the duplicate folder is made in the root directory. Quite odd

@Walking Comfort

Sounds like it might be due to how you are testing manually, but might be worth reporting your testing issue to Zapier Support so they can investigate further: https://zapier.com/app/get-help
