Hey! I keep getting this error on my Zap. The Zap I am trying to set up is an TRIGGER for a new email in gmail, and an ACTION to send that email, with added text to the body + the attachment to another inbox. I am unsure how to fix this error. Can anyone help?

Hi @ababab608

Please post screenshots of how your Zap steps are configured, thanks.

Here are my screenshots of the action set up. I also included the error at the bottom. Thank you!

Hi @ababab608

This is not a valid attachment:

You may need to use a different trigger: Gmail - New Attachment

Then map the attachment “file” object to this field.

Check out this help article about using files in Zaps: https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/send-files-in-zaps

Thank you all so much for the help! To follow up on this, I wanted to ask if there would be any input in my workflow that could be changing my file type from .xlsx to .txt. When I send my email I am using a .xlsx, but for some reason when the new email, the one that Zapier intercepts and adds text too, gets resent, the file is showing up as a .txt. Does this make sense to anyone?

One thing to check is whether there are multiple attachments coming thru on the email.

Sometimes other images in the email body (signatures) can be interpreted as images.

If that’s the case, then you may need to add a Filter step to only handle attachments with a .xls(x) format [mime type]: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

Perhaps post screenshots of a full example to see the inputs/outputs for each step.

If you have the Zap ON and have tested, then check your Zap Runs for the DATA IN/OUT for each step, which can help troubleshoot: https://zapier.com/app/history/
