Find Todoist Task from Previous Step and Mark "Complete"

Here’s the automation I’m trying to build:

  1. TRIGGER: New incomplete task in Todoist
  2. ACTION: Delay until due date on task
  3. ACTION: Create a tweet using the Todoist task title as content
  4. ACTION: (this is the part I can’t figure out) Mark the task in Todoist as “Complete”

It doesn’t seem like Zapier will allow me to take action on the Task from the trigger. I can “Find a task” but my only option is to choose from all the tasks that currently exist. It doesn’t give the option to use the Trigger step as the task to search for.

Anyone know a way around this? Or am I missing something?

Hiya @DustinWStout! Thanks for reaching out!

Interesting! Do you mind sharing your setup of that 4th action Step?

I wonder you set it up using the TaskID from the trigger step if that would do the trick?

Keep us posted!

@christina.d either the app wasn’t showing me the options under “Custom” or I didn’t see them… I thought I checked, but didn’t see Todoist from previous steps as an option. But it’s there now and that fixes it.

Thanks for the screenshot, that prompted me to go double-check.
