We have a source of people that we would like to add to our existing recruitment database BULLHORN. Creating a Zap is perfect for this and we have set it up, however, some of the people on the list may already be in our database. This will result in duplicates we would like to avoid.

Zapier can successfully connect to our database and search for records that are present on it.

Is it possible to set up a zap that conducts a search on the database for each person on the list and if they are present they are not imported?

Hey! Yes, this should be possible by first looking the user up and if they exist, end the zap, and if they don’t - create them

So for example:

  1. New contact in Bullhorn
  2. Look up contact via email address in Database
  3.  (easy way) Depending on what database you are using you can either create the record if not found

OR if there’s no such option, you may have to use a code step to handle this so your zap doesn’t abruptly end.

Try the easy way first though - And let us know if you run into issues
