Hi,

I am new to Zapier, so I apologize in advance if this question is a very simple one.

I connected my Wix automations to Zapier and am trying to create a new Google Calendar event.

However, in Zapier I am shown in the Wix Automations fields “John” and “Doe” for the name fields and also some date in 2020 for the start and end date fields. When the zap is triggered, it actually uses this “sample” data to create the event, and not the real data from Wix. What am I missing here?

You’d have to map the variable for the desired content back to the same field from the FIND step so it sets the existing value again, plus appends whatever new value you want.

Hi @Sagi_Guy

Good question.

Help article about how to change the trigger test data:https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/change-the-test-data-in-your-zap-trigger

Make sure to test the Wix Automation before trying to pull thru data in the Zap trigger.

I tried to follow the article, but I don’t have a different trigger to choose from in the Test Trigger section (screenshot attached). I tried to create a new automation in Wix and click on Load More, but still nothing.

@Sagi_Guy

Try turning the Zap ON and testing the Wix Automation.

Then check the Zap Runs: https://zapier.com/app/history/

Thank you. It seems to be working now (not sure what changed 😁).

Another question - is there a way to update a calendar event that was found, but not replace the previous content? for example, adding something to the description of the event if it was found. If I understood correctly the “update event” action just replaces the previous content (i.e. description) with the new one given in the zap, right?

Thank you. How do I do that? :)

Another question (sorry for so many questions, I seem to be running into a lot of issues with just a simple zap). I am trying to use the “Find event in Google Calendar” action and I keep getting “false” answer even though there’s already an event with the search word I’m giving. I tried a few times with different words and events, but keep getting false. Is there a way someone can look into this? I guess I’m missing something again.
