Question

Excel app, storage source Dropbox?

Hello, I need to add a row to an excel spreadsheet that is stored in Dropbox. In the excel app, I can only see two storage sources, OneDrive and Sharepoint. I’ve searched this question and it seems like other people have asked the same thing, but the answer is always the same: you can’t use dropbox as a storage source.

Has this been updated? If not, what is a workaround so I can achieve what I need to do?

Hi @Koelsch

If you are trying to use Excel, then the spreadsheet file must be in one of the supported storage sources:

  • OneDrive
  • SharePoint

  • Author
  • New

Is there a workaround?

@Koelsch

Move the Excel file from Dropbox to one of the supported Excel storage sources:

  • OneDrive
  • SharePoint

  • Author
  • New

Haha, well yes, of course…

I see people asking this same question I asked from years ago. It would be nice to add it as a feature, or provide a workaround, or at the very least have an explanation as to why Dropbox can’t be a supported storage source for Excel.
