Question

Does the Zapier free plan's 5-minute update apply to API triggers?

I understand that my Free Plan has an update time of 5 mins.

And I am wondering if I am using an API has a trigger would the automation kick-in, regardless of the update time?

Hi @YYZ9

To clarify, the Zapier free plan has a polling time of 15 minutes for Scheduled trigger types.

Info about the types of Zap triggers: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496244568589-Types-of-triggers-in-Zaps

Couple of questions

  • Is the “update time” the same as the “polling time”, @Troy Tessalone

Secondly -

In the article that you linked it states “. Some apps support polling triggers, others support instant triggers, and some support both”

So if its an instant trigger, does that mean that polling time is immaterial?

@YYZ9

Zap triggers that are instant via webhooks trigger in real-time.

Zap triggers that are scheduled via API polling for data trigger based on the polling/update time which is determined by the Zapier plan.
