Hello. I’m just getting started with Zapier and so far I’m very impressed. My flows are working. But now I’ve a question as I ponder adding more flows (Zaps?).

I use Stripe. I have a trigger for New Payment at Stripe. I look at the info provided by Stripe and then decide what to do.

Now as I ponder the future, let’s say I want to use Stripe to collect a New Payment for an unrelated service. Will the new flow (zap?) trigger my zap?  I assume so. Just curious if anyone knows for sure.

Said another way, let’s say I have 10 zaps that all have a trigger of New Stripe Payment. Do they all fire with the Stripe payment?  Is that a “bad practice”?  Is it a better practice to have the single trigger and use filters/paths?

Thank you.

Hi @Hanselzap

You may want to use this Zap trigger: Stripe - Checkout Session Completed

It can contain more data points related to the product/price.

Do they all fire with the Stripe payment?

Yes.

Is that a “bad practice”?

Can be easier to duplicate/edit a Zap with a Filter vs a Path.

Is it a better practice to have the single trigger and use filters/paths?

There are limits to using Paths: https://help.zapier.com/hc/en-us/articles/8496288555917
