Really new to zapier but wondering if there is a way for zapier to lookup data in a spreadsheet and return that data back to discord.

Typical example

 

Discord channel content: apples

look up “apples” in spreadsheet and return true or false to discord. 

I've got it roughly working but at the moment it ADDS the search criteria to the spreadsheet (which then makes the whole purpose of the lookup useless), and does not return any result back to discord. 

Any pointers on this would be great.

Yes, you can search for data on a google sheet using the Lookup Spreadsheet Row action https://zapier.com/apps/google-sheets/integrations.

As far as pushing data back into Discord, it really depends on what you are trying to do. The available discord actions can be found here: https://zapier.com/apps/discord/integrations
