Hello - I’m a noob at this, but is it really so that it is not possible to update a ticket in Freshdesk without using a custom API request?

I want to have Freshdesk create a task in Clickup if certain criterias is met, and update the ticket in Freshdesk with the Clickup taskId. This also to filter so that there is no duplicates of tasks.

Maybe someone has some tips on how to solve this, expected this to be more straihtforward :|

@Jørgen Andreassen

Have you thought of adding a note to the Freshdesk ticket with the ClickUp id?

There doesn’t appear to be an update ticket action, so this may be the best workaround without using a custom API call.

Hmm, but can I use this note in a zap to link the Freshdesk ticket to a Clickup task?

@Jørgen Andreassen

I believe that you could add a note to the fresh desk ticket that would identify the the clickup task.

You could add additional instructions inside the note.

Hi @Jørgen Andreassen,

We just wanted to see how everything is going with your Zap. Did Badger’s recommendation get the job done? Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance with your Zap. We're glad to address any concerns and assist you.

We're looking forward to your response.

I did not investigate the propose solution further because I found that Make had actions for “Update ticket” - and it seems in general that there are more actions available in Make.

Hi there, @Jørgen Andreassen 👋

Thanks for letting us know. I’m so sorry to hear that you needed to use Make in order to get the ticket updated, but I’m glad you were able to get a solution in place. 🧡

I spotted that there’s an existing feature request for an “Update ticket” action to be added to Freshdesk’s app on Zapier. Hope you don’t mind but I went ahead and added your vote to that feature request to help increase it’s priority. We’ll send you an email notification once it’s available, in case you’d like to try it out in future.

In the meantime, if you change your mind at all and want to revisit setting up that API Request action to update the ticket do let me know—I’d be happy to lend a hand! 🙂
