I am trying to create a Zap from Google Forms to Basecamp.

I did not create the Google Form originally, it was created by someone else, but I am given “edit” access.

When I try to create the Zap, I cannot locate the Google Form spreadsheet in the dropdown options.

When I created another Google Form, I was able to see the form’s spreadsheet from the one I created in the dropdown options.

Do I have to be the original creator of the Google Form in order to create a Zap for it?

Hi @cma!

When you go to Google Sheets (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets) and click on Not owned by me do you see the spreadsheet that you need to get access to?

Yes I can see the spreadsheet when I go to Google Sheets. But I don’t see this Google Sheet in Zapier.

Hi @cma ,

Hopping in for Nick here, I hope that is okay!

I see you are working with Joseph in Support on this issue, which is great as they are able to take a look at your exact Zap and configuration to get you squared away as quickly as possible.

If you have any additional questions, just let us know- happy to help!

Hiya, @cma! I’m just following up on our conversation here, so other folks can benefit from what we learned.

One thing we recommend in situations like this is to...

  1. Set up the Google Form to output to a Google Sheet: https://support.google.com/docs/answer/2917686
  2. Ask the owner to share that Google Sheet with you: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2494822
  3. Change the Zap to use a Google Sheet trigger instead of a Google Forms trigger: https://zapier.com/apps/google-sheets/integrations

Note: If the Google Sheet is in a Team Drive, make sure to use the New Spreadsheet Row (Team Drive) trigger.
