Create email address from first and last name

I am looking to set up Zap for creating a new user in Okta. The way my company sets up emails is by first initial and last name, so John Doe would be jdoe@company.com. I’ve set the text formatter to break up a first and last name from a single cell into two separate cells. I am not sure how to take the J out of John, any one have ideas??

Hi @FRTBTT

Great question! To elaborate a little more on what Troy mentioned you would use the formatter > text > truncate on the first name. It would look something like this:

You would want to make sure that length is set to 1. After that you can get the data returned and add the lastname in the same field for the Okta new user step.

Hope this helps!

Hi @FRTBTT

Good question.

Try Formatter > Text > Truncate
