I am very new to Zapier, but am wondering if this is possible.

In Canada, we can exchange money via “interact money transfers” or email - which is free for most banks.  My customers usually opt to pay this way because there are no transaction fees.

Is it possible to mark an existing invoice in Wave as “paid” and send a receipt based on an email trigger?

Example:

Bank emails “Customer Jim sent $500 and this has been automatically deposited to your bank account” - Zapier finds the outstanding invoice for that customer in Wave, marks it as paid, and sends a receipt?

Is this possible?

And if it isn’t possible with Wave, but is possible with another accounting software, I’m open to hearing about it!

The Wave integration will let you record a sale. See more here https://zapier.com/apps/wave/integrations#how-it-works  I am unsure if this is the same as marking an invoice paid.

You can parse email in Zapier to get the data from the text, but I have always found this exceedingly tricky unless the email has a very standardised layout from which to grab the data.

Xero is premium App and does let you change the status of an invoice, I am unsure if that includes marked as paid.

Do look through the apps to see if anything does what you need. https://zapier.com/apps

Hi @LitUpLiteracy

Resources for email parsing:

Wave Zap app available triggers/actions: https://zapier.com/apps/wave/integrations#triggers-and-actions

No option to update an invoice.

You would have to explore using the Wave API:
