I am new to Zapier and am trying to figure out how to move or copy newly created folders in DropBox to a Folder in DropBox. So far, all I see is the ability to move or copy files but not the whole folder

The folder I want to move/copy has folders within it. I need to move all of these new folders to a common folder. I do not know the names of the newly created folders within the folder, only the name of the main folder they are in

Hey there,

It looks like you will probably need to create the folder first, then move the files into the folder.

Hope that helps!

Ah, in that case, it looks like there are some limitations with the Dropbox Zapier options.

It’s a technical solution, but if you really need to do this, you probably want to read Dropbox's API and use this call:

https://www.dropbox.com/developers/documentation/http/documentation#files-move_batch

...You can call their API using Zapier’s Webhook

I tried this with my dropbox account. It’s working fine for me.

Hi @jameslke434! Thanks for letting us know that you were able to do this with your account, are you able to share any details about how it worked for you? Thanks!

Hi friends! 👋🏽

I wanted to pop in and update this thread to mention this is an open feature request!

We’ll be sure to keep this topic updated if and when this gets implemented. I’d also recommend subscribing to the thread to stay in the loop. 🤗
