I know that there is a new action for conversion of a salesforce lead into a contact in the post here:

I am wondering if this is also functional for lead to person account conversions?

Sometimes the only way to know for sure is to configure and test.

Required fields:

  • Lead
  • Account
  • Converted Status

When trying to configure this to convert the lead to a person account the zap is requiring an account to assign the contact to. Unfortunately because the lead has not been converted yet there is no account for me to place in the zap. Is there a way to get around this?

Try adding another Zap step before to either:

  • Find Account
  • Create Account

 

Then map the Account ID to the Account field.

In order to assign them to an account you’d need to create an account record before that Convert Lead to Contact action runs, as Troy mentioned.

So if an account will never exist before the lead is converted then you’d want to add a Create Record action to create the account to be associated with the lead. But if there’s potentially cases where an existing account might exist before a lead converts then it would be better to use a Find Record action which has the ability to also create one if an existing account record is not found.

Hello! I was able to get this to work as intended! The person account was created, and then the conversion function converted the lead while keeping the new contact as part of the person account. Thank you so much for the help!
