Can I connect an app (MailChimp for example) to my Zapier account using an API key instead of my username and password?

Good question.

The Mailchimp API can be used if you want to authenticate with an API Key: https://mailchimp.com/developer/marketing/api/

App APIs can be used in Zaps with the Webhooks app: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/help

Yes, App APIs can be used in Zaps with the Webhooks app: https://zapier.com/apps/webhook/help

You’ll need to refer to the Mailchimp API documentation for the desired endpoint: https://mailchimp.com/developer/marketing/api/
