Hi all! The company I work for is rolling out CompanyCam after years of documenting everything via email. However, we have a couple upper managers that insist on getting an email as soon as possible (instead of waiting for a Recap email from CompanyCam). To fit this need, I started with a Zap that triggers when we Export at Checklist to PDF.

Everything is going well enough with the Zap, but I cannot seem to get the Project Name in any fields, which I need in order to make the emails searchable. I tried making a Zap that updates a spreadsheet with Project ID and Project Name upon project creation, but I cannot figure out how to refer back to that in order to find Project Names either.

Currently, the email subject line is a mess - for example, “Exported - Wrap - Mold.pdf” - with no easy way to figure out what job they’re about without clicking the link.

I’m open to any suggestions on how to automate this task. My current plan is just having the technicians send emails manually, but I dislike duplicating steps and effort. I don’t want to have the guys in the field complete a Checklist in CompanyCam, then have to turn around and answer all the same questions in a separate email to a handful of people.

To recap: I need practically any method to extract a Project Name from CompanyCam to pass along to an email Subject Line.

Thank you!

Hi @Nik_BHR

For us to have more info, post screenshots showing which CompanyCam Zap trigger/action steps you are trying to use.

It is helpful to post screenshots showing how your Zap steps are outlined and configured in EDIT mode.

Thank you for the response, Troy!

Just about the same time you replied, I managed to get it working via a Zapier Table! I was on the right path, just made it harder on myself by using an external spreadsheet.

Now I get to tackle the body of the email!

Hi @Nik_BHR,
