I am using “Add/Remove Deal Label” in Pipedrive.  I reference the Deal ID dynamically from the “Deal Filter” in the previous stage.  This works fine.  But when I choose Add Label it doesn’t give me the deal labels like it does in people.  Does it require me to manually find the label ID?  If so does anyone know the easiest way to find it?

Thank you

Hi @CRD13

Click field tooltips for more info.

Use this temp Zap action to get the Deal Label IDs: Pipedrive - Create Deal

I did this and it works fine for adding labels to the people but not the deal.  I have a deal matching filter and I choose the deal id dynamically from the previous step and it finds the correct deal when I test it without adding a label.  But if I select “choose value” it shows me all the fields not the label options in the label field.

Thanks @Troy Tessalone   Appreciate the response even though it didn’t solve it.  Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

@CRD13

We would need to see screenshots with how your updated Zap steps is now configured with the numeric IDs of the Deal Labels configured in the Labels fields.

@CRD13

Try using this Zap action: Pipedrive - Update Deal

Thank you.  I knew there was a place to find the deal label#.  Just to clarify for others, if you use the PD “Add/remove deal labels” you must find the deal label # or it won’t work.

To find the deal label choose the PD “Update Deal” and go the labels and it shows all of the labels.

Note: If you add a label from the “update Deal” it will replace all other labels

Thanks for clarifying @CRD13! 🙌 The “Add/remove deal labels” does need the label ID, and good catch on “Update Deal” replacing existing labels—great tip!

Pleased to see Troy was able to point you in the right direction here, nice one @Troy Tessalone! 🎉

Seems like you’re all set for now but please feel free to reach back out if you need help with anything else.

In the meantime, happy Zapping! ⚡

Strangely “Label” field has completely disappeared now.  Reached out to customer support.

@Troy Tessalone I want to do exactly what you said but there is literally no “Label” in “Update Deal”.  It is really strange because it used to be there.  I have tried to ask tech support but so far no luck.

@CRD13

Make sure you are using the current version of the Pipedrive Zap app integration. (3.36.0 as of this writing)

Try using the browser to search for “Label” instead of the Zap step search or try scrolling to find the “Label” field.

Sorry to hear that label field disappeared @CRD13! I dug into the Update Deal action and noticed the Label field appears after you select a value for Status and Stage.

Before selecting those, I only saw these fields listed:

Once I picked a Status and Stage, the Label field then showed up:

It seems that some fields, like the Label field, may load dynamically based on other field values (or perhaps only a default subset loads initially 🤔). Once the Label field appears it stays visible, even if you clear the values selected in the Status and Stage fields, so you can likely leave those fields blank and still update the label on the deal.

Can you give that a try and let me know if you’re then able to update the label in Pipedrive?

Unfortunately no luck.  So strange that this is happening.  And really frustrating.  Tech support hasn’t figured out yet

Thanks for following up here, @CRD13. I’ve just checked on the Support ticket and saw you were since able to get it resolved by creating a custom label field called “Zapier Label” as well as a Pipedrive Automation that says if the “Zapier Label” = X then add the real Pipedrive Label to the deal—awesome work! 🙌

Since that appears to have resolved things I’ll mark this as the best answer for now. But also wanted to share the main details from Support’s reply in case it’s helpful context for others that might be running into similar issues in the future:

In my testing, I found that Pipedrive accounts can have multiple types of label fields - both custom label fields that users create and system label fields that come built-in. The system Label field appears to be a special type of field that has restricted visibility and editing permissions, even for global admins.

Here's what I discovered during my investigation:

System Label Field Behavior
The system Label field you're trying to access appears to be a "multiple options" type field that has special restrictions. Even though you're a global admin, this particular system field seems to require a higher level of account permissions or may be controlled by Pipedrive's backend configuration that isn't accessible through normal admin settings.

Confirmed Workaround
I was able to confirm that creating custom label fields works perfectly with Zapier. When I created a new custom Deal label field with options, it immediately appeared in the Pipedrive "Update Deal" step and functioned exactly as expected:

The custom label field also displays properly in Pipedrive deals:

Recommended Solution
Since the system Label field appears to have restrictions that prevent it from being accessible through Zapier (and potentially through normal Pipedrive admin functions), I'd recommend:

  1. Create a custom Deal label field in Pipedrive with the same label options you need
  2. Contact Pipedrive support to ask about hiding or removing the system Label field from your deals if it's no longer needed
  3. Update your Zaps to use the new custom label field instead

This approach will give you full control over the label field and ensure it works reliably with Zapier going forward.
