Question

Can Zapier subscribe to a shared calendar?

I am looking for a way to trigger a zap from a calendar change.

The calendar shares a publicly accessible webcal link in the form: webcal://p46-caldav.icloud.com/published/2/[private key]

I tried the RSS trigger but the URL wasn’t accepted. Is there something else I could use at all?

Hi @HugosDad, thanks for joining the Community here! 🙂

What app is the calendar currently in, is it an Apple calendar?

I wonder if perhaps you could try directly connecting/syncing the current calendar to another calendar app that’s on Zapier? Like Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook for example, so that there’s essentially a clone of that calendar that can be connected to the Zap. That should in theory then allow the Zap to trigger when there’s an updated event in the cloned calendar.

Do you think that sort of approach could work?

Hey Sam, thanks for the reply.

The calendar is currently in Apple calendar, yes.

I did share the original calendar and subscribe to it from the Google Calendar and see if I could trigger it that way but new events in Apple calendar weren’t reflected in Google so the Zap didn’t ever trigger… I’ll need to work out why that might be, but it does sounds like a viable option.

I’ll keep you posted as I see there a few posts of people wanting to trigger Zaps from Apple calendar events.

Thanks,

Thanks for confirming that @HugosDad. I look forward to hearing that goes! 🙂

Do let me know if there’s anything else I can help with in the meantime.
