Can a smart phone user set up a Twilio SMS number as a contact in their smart phone and share their location throughout the day with that SMS number? Iphone has a feature “Share My Location” that I believe allows the phone to communicate the phone user’s location through out the day. Is that information available to Twilio numbers and if so, can it be communicated to a zap, probably via a webhook? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @Busted Knuckles

Good question.

The Apple iOS Share My Location service uses in-app notifications.

You can set up recurring location-based notifications. This lets you know if someone has arrived at or left a location, or isn't at a particular place during a specific time window.

Doesn’t appear to support sending to a Contact’s Phone Number.

Thank you Troy. I was hoping it could ping my phone during certain events to get me location but it doesn’t appear so. Thank you for looking into it.

@Busted Knuckles

You may want to look more into iOS Shortcuts: https://support.apple.com/guide/shortcuts/welcome/ios

Thanks Troy. The iOS Shortcuts looks promising.
