BambooHR Error: Invalid API call, Wrong method or URL while trying to update an Employee

HeyHo Guys,

i’m back with an seemingly trivial question ^^

For some time now i want to update a Specific field in Bamboo (WorkEmail) after an Employee account in Okta gets activated. And / or check if the WorkEmail field is set when the account gets activated.

I used the included “Update BambooHR Employee” function in Zapier - however i get the Error message as mentioned above :/

Do i need special permission to do that? I am not an Bambo admin - maybe that is the point.

And is there another way to edit fields in Bamboo (Maybe with Webhooks) - If so how do i create an URL for calling the API?

Thanks for your help ^^ I appreciate every thought on this :)

Cheers,

Hürkan

Hi @Hürkan

Does the BambooHR account need any special account permissions?

Some actions require a certain level of permissions to use them.
For example, the "Respond to Time Off Request" action can only be used by users who are able to approve time off requests.
Here are some helpful articles from BambooHR that describe how to configure permissions:

Hey @Troy Tessalone,

thanks for your fast response. So i guess i have to chack back with our Bamboo admins to give me custom access rights to try it out ^^

i will talk to them in the coming days

Cheers,

Hi @Hürkan, were you able to sort out the account permissions for the BambooHR account and get this working? Let us know!
