Automatically send new files to appropriate contacts

I lead a child sponsorship program with over 500 children. Each quarter we receive a PDF update on those children and need to send the updates to the sponsors attached to them. This is very tedious and can hopefully be automated! The process I need is:

  1. Zapier needs to know when a new PDF report is added to Google Drive (or similar service).
  2. That file name will have the name of a child. Zapier needs to search a table or list to find all contacts who are connected to that child’s name.
  3. We then need to automatically send a preset email to every contact with that matching child name.

Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Try these Zap steps:

  1. Trigger: GDrive - New File in Folder
  2. Action: [APP] - Find Record/Row
    1. e.g. Airtable - Find Record
  3. Action: [APP] - Send Email
    1. e.g. Gmail - Send Email
