Hi there!

Does anyone know if it is possible to determine if any zaps in a particular account touch a specific field?

More details on the use case… First and foremost, I’m trying to determine if it’s safe to change a field name in Airtable. 🙂 I tried searching zap history by the field ID / name, but nothing showed up (even when trying this method for a field that I know for a fact is being used in many zaps).

Further, I’m also looking for a way to easily “inventory” what fields I’m using in each zap - we have a shared team account and thus have LOTS of zaps, some of which might be duplicative and unnecessary. It would be great to somehow be able to grab a set of metadata that lists what field names/ids are used in each zap so that I can more easily start to map out the bigger picture.

I hope that all makes sense - thank you!

Hi @allialosa

Changing Airtable field names can break mapped variables in Zaps.

@allialosa

You can try exporting your Zaps to run analysis on the Airtable fields being used.

@Troy Tessalone Exactly why I’m writing this post, lol. I have literally over 100 zaps and don’t want to have to go through them one by one to see if the field is used.

This sounds like a viable solution! Really hoping to eventually be able to automate this, but I will look at this as a start 🙂 thanks so much!

@allialosa

Might be a good idea to start creating and maintaining internal documentation about the Airtable fields used in Zaps.

Hey @allialosa - Check out this free tool that’s in beta called Blueprint which allows you to import your Zapier JSON file and deep search into steps including fields as well as code steps -
