Question

Allow Eventbrite attendees to select Mailchimp groups they are interested in

My Eventbrite attendees can check ‘keep up to date with news from this organizer’ and what that does is add them to my MailChimp mailing list, but specifically to the first group option on my list. This is not appropriate because they didn’t select that particular interest. I need to give them the group option selection up front...how do I do this? Thanks!

Hi @BonnyBoom

Consider using Tags instead of Groups in Mailchimp. (see below)

If you have different options then you can use a Zap with a Filter/Paths to map them to the correct Mailchimp option.

Filter: https://zapier.com/apps/filter/help

Paths: https://zapier.com/apps/paths/integrations

Per Mailchimp: https://mailchimp.com/help/getting-started-with-groups/

  • Groups are intended to be contact-facing, so you can collect information based on what your contacts tell you about themselves or their preferences.
  • If you don't need to let your contacts categorize themselves, and you're looking for a way to organize contacts internally, consider using tags instead.
