I use a webhook to trigger a zap in the most basic way.
I set up a webhook to as the trigger app
Saved the URL to the webhook
and when i want the Zap to run I visit the link
This seemed to work fine for a long time, but this month, the webhook has been randomly triggering
I have not visited the URL.
Why would this be?

Add a Filter as Step 2 to only continue if certain webhook URL query string parameter values are set.
