Hello, we use a web-based application for part or our business. The developers have a set of API’s that will allow us to get and post data. They have given us a test url, token and an ID field to test retrieving data. I tried to use the AI chatbot in Zapier to build a flow to retrieve this data and put it in an Excel sheet just as a POC. I can not get it to work. The AI gives me a webhook trigger that does not seem to have what I need. All I need is something to configure the url, the key and input the ID to retrieve data. is there another API app that I should be using in Zapier?

The Zapier webhooks app does a lot of heavy lifting for all types of API requests. To receive data from an API, you likely will want to use the GET action from the Webhook. Then, you will fill in the URL and parameters in the manner specified by the API you are using. APIs can be configured differently, so you’ll need to make sure that your GET request matches the specification the API expects.
Can you share some screenshots of the documentation you have for your API and the webhook you’ve started to build to retrieve the data? That will help us to debug further.
