Learn how to connect your Salesforce Trailhead Playground to Zapier in just a few simple steps! Step 1: Start by creating a free account at trailhead.salesforce.com. Once you've signed up, you'll have the ability to create your own Salesforce Trailhead Playground
Step 2: After you've created or logged into your Trailhead account, go to the top right of the page and click on your profile picture. From the dropdown menu, select 'Hands-On Orgs,' or you can go directly to this link: Hands-On Orgs. Make sure you're logged in to your account.
Once you're on the Hands-On Orgs page, click the 'Create Playground' button. You can name your Playground anything you like, then click 'Create.' This will set up a personal Salesforce environment where you can begin practicing and experimenting, this may take up to 10 minutes to create and once this has been completed you can press on the launch button.
Step 3: Once you've created your Playground, click the "Launch" button. This will redirect you to the Salesforce instance. On the login screen, click "Get your login credentials." Copy your username (it should look something like "tom@mindful-panda-fjs0xc.com"). Then, press the "Reset My Password" button. This will send a password reset link to the email address you used when signing up for Trailhead
Step 4: Go to Zapier and create a new Zap. For the trigger app, select Salesforce and choose any event you want to trigger (e.g., "New Record" or "Updated Record"). In the next step, select Account as the object.
When seeing the option to connect your Salesforce account click on this, a popup will appear. In this popup, choose the Production environment and enter the username you copied earlier (e.g., "tom@mindful-panda-fjs0xc.com") and the password you created during the password reset process. Once entered, click "Continue" to establish the connection between Salesforce and Zapier and make sure you agree with granting access for Zapier to be able to make changes on Salesforce.
Step 5: Congratulations! You’ve now successfully connected your Salesforce Trailhead Playground with Zapier. You’re ready to start practicing and automating workflows.
