Meta has announced that the Instagram Basic Display API powering Zapier’s Instagram integration will be deprecated today, December 4, 2024. As a result, any Zaps using the Instagram app will stop functioning on this date.


To maintain functionality, please migrate your Zaps to the Instagram for Business integration, which offers the same key features and more. 

What you need to know 

Impact:

  • Zaps built with the Instagram app will no longer work after December 4, 2024. 
  • The Instagram for Business integration supports Business and Creator accounts only. Meta has discontinued API support for non-Business/Creator accounts.

 

Next steps for Business/Creator accounts:

  • Ensure your Instagram account is set up as a Business or Creator account (see this guide for help).
  • To maintain functionality, you’ll need to authenticate with Instagram for Business and update your Zaps using the Instagram for Business app.

 

Recreating your Zaps

  • Use the “New Media Posted to My Account” Trigger in Instagram for Business, which functions the same as the Trigger in the deprecated integration.
  • To maintain functionality, you must use the Instagram for Business app and update any Zap steps that use the deprecated Instagram app.

From what I can see, a lot of people are having the same issue with trying to reconnect instagram even when they have Instagram for business.  Can you guys look into it and find out whats causing it? For reference this is the error.

Wow, I have been dealing with this issue with Zapier Support and they’ve kind of been acting like I’m all alone in this.
