How do I auto-populate data in a protected Excel/Google Sheet without allowing edits?

is there a way to auto populate data in a protected excel/google sheet. i don’t want anybody to alter the data that zapier populates into assigned columns

Is it possible to give An automation Editing rights within a protected Xcel or Google sheets? I am trying to make it so when one of my orders moves to a complete or shipping status. that it populatesTask name and Address to a protected document. My account with google has editing rights to certain cells which are the ones I am trying to automate input too. But it throws an error stating its needs editing rights.

Recommendations for a more secure version of Google Sheets?

I sell desktop software products that must be protected against theft by a unique license key for each sale. For years, I have used Infusionsoft to dispense a key when a product is sold. Now, I need to move to GroovePages, which does NOT have the capability to do this. I hope to find a way to do this, securely, using Zapier. I need to make a Zap that can securely dispense (in a delivery email) one license key, from a list of license keys that I will have previously uploaded to the list, when my product gets purchased. After that license has been given to the customer, this one key must be marked as "used," so the next purchaser gets the next key in the list. I have seen examples of people making Zaps that use Google Sheets to store their list, but Google Sheets cannot be protected. Can you suggest some App, that has a Zapier integration, that could be used instead of Google Sheets?

Can't Update Google Sheet Rows

I have tried several different ways with different Zap apps and I can NOT get a Google Sheet row to update when an email is added. I want a sheet row to get updated when the email field from the initiating app is updated. I keep getting “There was an error writing to your Google sheet.” I use a ‘Lookup’ to make sure I can find the row that has been updated and it works great - but when I go to update the row - I get that error. I tried with multiple trigger apps and get the same result. HELP!!! (please)

How do I automate updating a Google Sheets cell to "TRUE" after an email is sent with Zapier?

Hey guys, so i created a zap that send automatic email to my customers based on when a new google sheet row has been created, in each row i have a colon called “status” that is set to either TURE, or FLASE which helps me track if the contact had been informed that we got his email or not. i want my zap to also update that colon to TRUE after the email was sent successfully.i have locked the cells that should not be edited to prevent zappier from editing them and ive created an “update row” step but for some reason its not working even know that specific colon does not have protection on it(and yes the account does have edit permissions) please help me understand how to do this correctly

Google Sheets: Unable to parse range error

Hello everyone! I am currently experiencing an issue where every time my zap executes I get an error message for the last step “Create multiple rows” in Google Sheets. The weird thing is that when I’m in edit mode, and I test the zap, it works perfectly fine. However, when I publish it and the zap triggers, I get an error message. What I’ve done so far is deleted the entire zap and recreate it thinking that it needed to refresh due to me changing a sheet name, but it seems like it is still reading the previous sheet name. How to create a client dashboard that allows clients to view their customer data (stored in Google Sheets)?

We keep all customer data in a few different client sheets. Currently we pull that data into a “dashboard” Google sheet, publish that to the web, and then send the client the weblink. But it looks awful and doesn’t format for mobile. I’d like a way to send a new customer a temporary password so they can go to our website, enter their email and temporary password, and view their customer data (pulled from google sheets by using their email as a search key). Ideally this has protection against someone trying to brute-force the username and password box. Is this possible with zapier? Or is there some other simple way to do this?

How do I map JotForm form fields to Google Sheets via Zapier?

I am experimenting with zapier and trying to do a simple integration where if someone fills out a form on jotform, it adds an entry into google sheets. I hooked into jotforms and set a "trigger" to hook into one of my forms. However, the fields that are pulling in are things like "form_id" and "ip address". instead of fields on the actual form like "name" and "email_address". I am using the "New Submission" event.

Hello, I created a zap with the trigger : New deal in Hubspot, the action: Get Many Spreadsheet Rows to select a specific cell and a third zap : Update Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets.The first two work very well but for the update, I have an error message that appears: "Failed to create a spreadsheet row in Google SheetsThere was an error writing to your Google sheet. How to pull Python code from a GitHub and reformat it for Google Sheets?

Disclaimer: I am not a coder...I've tried researching how to do this on my own, but I'm too far out of my wheelhouse to figure it out. So, I'm hoping someone can show me how to use the Python actions inside of Zapier to automate a repetitive task. The Goal: I want to be able to pull the data of "new move-ins" to the area from my church's website (name, address, phone, etc) and have it put into a Google Sheet, so I can keep track of efforts to welcome them. I know how to set up everything in the Zap, except for the Python actions that pull the data from the site and then formats it the way I need it for the spreadsheet. Google Sheets - "The caller does not have permission" error

Hi there, I’m looking for some pointers on working with Google Sheets, let me outline the scenario.. I’m trying to update an attribute in my CRM (Sendinblue) for new contacts. I’m taking these steps: Trigger - new contact created in Sendinblue Get a ‘code’ from a Google Sheet row (through Get many Spreadseat Rows) Update the contact attribute ‘XYZ’ with the code from Google Sheets This connection seems to be working, however, on the Google Sheets step I’m getting the error ‘app returned “the caller does not have permission”. So it seems to me that Zapier can read the file, but somehow cannot return the information from the Google Sheet... My Google Drive is connected to Zapier and to be sure I’ve set my Google Sheet to Public, but I’m still receiving the error and the attribute is not updating correctly. Do you guys have any suggestions what to do here?

RSS fields from 2 RSS feeds into same Google Sheet Row

Hi all, I have two different RSS feeds that each provide unique information that I want on the same row of a Google Sheet. Both are pulling information from Reddit. Feed 1 (default Reddit RSS): publish date original poster subreddit link to Reddit post post title Feed 2 has lots of information, but I am trying to pull exclusively the article URL that the Reddit post links to. I want both RSS outputs to be on the same row in a Google Sheet so that I have all the fields from Feed 1 and Feed 2 in the same row. However, if I make two separate zaps and use the Create Spreadsheet Row step, the article URL and the other information will be on separate rows, which is not ideal. When I try to use the “Lookup Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets” step and “Update Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets” step together, I don’t know how to make the “Update” step actually paste in the URL I want. How can I ensure that both RSS outputs land on the same row? Thanks in advance.

Will a formula that updates from an XLOOKUP trigger an updated cell in Google Sheets?

I have a ZAP that triggers when any row is updated on a Google Sheet. The sheet being watched for updates has XLOOKUPs in it which update based on a different sheet. If the resulting value of the XLOOKUP changes, does that trigger as an updated row or no? . . . it doesn’t seem to, but I’m not certain.

I need to protect a worksheet that the Zap adds rows, etc. to so it is only viewable, and not editable. I keep receiving an error when the sheet is protected. Is there a work-around?

Is there a way to follow timedata for a random Trello Card into Sheets ?

Hello, I didn’t found any informations here on the Community Zapier so I’m trying to figure out how I can automate data time for a random Trello card to different lists in Trello. Each cards in Trello will be create randomly so I can’t add an ID card before. The issue is that I will move manually the card to different lists as “steps” but everytime I use the trigger “moved to list XX” it creates a new row and it’s not following the ID Card in Trello 😥 Is there a way to follow the “life” (in my case I will need the time in order to calculate a duration) of a specific and random card in Trello to different lists in Google Sheets ? Not really sure that my question is clear 🙄 For the moment I can only easily follow the time creation of a random card in Sheets… It’s a beginning but not enough unfortunately.. How to copy spreadsheet and keep the shared functionality?

I like to fire off Salesforce to make a copy of a Master google spreadsheet that is shared with several people. I am able to make a copy of the Master spreadsheet, but I am not able to keep ‘share it with the same people’ functionality. Does anybody have a solution for this?

Issue with Zaps taking too long to trigger Spreadsheet updates

Zapier taking extremely long to trigger new or updated spreadsheet row trigger when a trigger column is updated. Sometimes 7 minutes, sometimes 20. sometimes 5. its extremely unpredictable. Is there a way to trigger on demand? the tablers feature doesnt allow the character limit i need so that wont work. is make.com my only option?
