I was wondering if anyone has had form data they collected in a tool like formstack, update an employee’s profile in BambooHR.

I have tried used a google sheet lookup table with the Employee ID but have found that it doesn’t work and only updates 1 profile but not dynamically look for right ID to update the right employee profile

Hi @Workco Stef

Can you post screenshots of how your Zap steps are configured?

Check out this help article for how to dynamically map data points between steps: https://zapier.com/help/create/basics/set-up-your-zap-action#set-up-your-action

Just wanted to follow up here as noticed @Workco Stef reached out to Support who spotted why only one employee profile was being updated. It seems that instead of selecting an employee from the dropdown menu on the Update Employee step, the Custom value option needed to be used in the Employee field to select the Employee ID number from the Google Sheet step.

Usually a BambooHR Find Employee search step would be used to search for the employee to get its ID number but in this case, the Google Sheets spreadsheet already contained this information. This meant that the ID could be referenced directly from the Google Sheets step on the Update Employee step. Allowing the Zap to dynamically update the correct employee based on the Employee ID it received from Google Sheets.

More information on how to use search steps and custom values can be found here:
