Find the Slack channel ID from the channel name

I am looking for a way to find the Slack channel ID by using the channel name but can’t find any way around it.

As the channel name is unique, I was sure this is easy and straightforward but I am stuck.

Has anyone had any luck with such a request?

Hi @SFDC 

Good question.

You’ll likely have to keep a lookup table with the Slack Channel IDs/Names to use in Zaps as there isn’t a Slack Zap action to Find Channel by Name.

GSheets can be used as a Lookup Table.

Hey @SFDC! Troy is correct in that there isn’t currently a way to find a channel by name - sorry about that! We do have an open feature request for this, though, which I’ve gone ahead and added you to. If/when it’s available, we’ll both email you and update the main thread for this issue:
