Asana/Github Integration - Updating asana task once github issue is closed

Hey,

I’ve created a zap to create new tasks in Asana when new issues in Github get created. For the next step, I’d like to update the asana tasks with any new github issue comments, and when the github issue is closed. 

Starting off with a new zap, there isn’t an option in the Github integration to create a zap based on “Issue comment” or the status of the issue. Does anyone know what I should be selecting instead?

I also am running into issues selecting the task name. I’d like to use the tasks created in the first zap, but these aren’t populating. 

Curious if anyone has set this workflow below?

Thanks for reaching out!

There is currently an open feature request for both a GitHub “Issue Comment” and “Issue Closed” trigger.

I have gone ahead and added you as an interested user which raises awareness with the app's technical and adds weight to the request in queue. Should these features become available, you will also be notified via email!

Regarding the task name, could you share a screenshot of your configuration so we can help troubleshoot?

I just read a comment by @zaza_gils posted April 22, 2020 (2+ years ago) that:

There is currently an open feature request for both a GitHub “Issue Comment” and “Issue Closed” trigger.

 

Does anyone know where this is at?  This seems like a super basic feature.  If I can trigger a zap when an issue is opened, I should be able to do the same when one is closed (and, less importantly, commented on).

Hi @jstafford 

Good question.

Most apps on Zapier are built and maintained by the app developers themselves, and Zapier keeps an internal list of app requests, altho I’m unsure who owns the GitHub Zap app (GitHub or Zapier).
