Hello, I'm trying to create automated emails to students in Thinkific after they have completed a lesson. However, when I try to create a zap, I get this error message that the account can't be found. I have completed the integrations in both applications.

Hi @Missyc01

Try performing the Zap trigger event in Thinkific, then test the Zap trigger step.

Thank you for sharing Troy, but I don’t quite understand what to do with the information. I’m quite confused. Everything is correct in the trigger stage but the test isn’t working. I also don’t see the option to modify the trigger test record. I’m not sure what to do to fix it.

@Missyc01

To help us have more context, post screenshots with how your Zap trigger step tabs are configured.

After you configured the Zap trigger step, you’ll need to test the trigger event in Thinkific? (e.g. new enrollment)

The screenshots you have in the post are the screenshots I have. What else should I take a screenshot of?

I have the growth plan and I have site admin access.

Is there anyone who can help me directly? You are offering a lot of information (thank you!), but I don’t see how it applies to my issue.

@Missyc01

We’d need to see screenshots for these sections of your Zap trigger step:

  • App & Event
  • Trigger

If you are looking to hire help, check the directory of Certified Zapier Experts: https://zapier.com/experts

@Missyc01

Unfortunately the screenshots you’ve provided thus far only show the Zap trigger step ‘Test’ section. (see screenshot)

For us to have context about your Zap trigger step, we need to see screenshots from these Zap trigger step sections:

  • App & Event
  • Trigger

Are these helpful?

@Missyc01

Since you configured the Zap trigger step, have you completed the selected Lesson for the selected Course in Thinkific? (see below)

If no, then do that, then try testing the Zap trigger step ‘Test’ section again, as that should cause Thinkific to send data to the Zap trigger step for you to then use to configure your Zap action step.

Course: Building an Inclusive Workplace DEI 101 Workshop

Lesson: Pre-Assessment + Learn About You

I completed the lesson. The course is completely built out. Any other suggestions?

@Missyc01

Did you complete the lesson before or after you had the Zap trigger step configured?

If before, then you would need try testing again by completing the lesson in Thinkific.

Before

@Missyc01

Try completing the specific course lesson, then test the Zap trigger step again to see if that returns data.

I mean I completed the course BEFORE I created the zap

That’s what I said.  I completed the course BEFORE I created the zap

@Missyc01

You need to try completing the specific course lesson AFTER you configured the Zap trigger step.

So I need to rebuild the course? There are 12 lessons i need to create zaps for

@Missyc01

You don’t need to rebuild the course.

You need to act as a user and complete the course lesson that you specified in your Zap trigger step.

After you do that, then test your Zap trigger step to pull thru data from Thinkific.

See screenshot for description of the Zap trigger you are using.

Ok, I'll try and report back

Hi! It looks like that worked. However, will I need to go through my entire course as a fake student to set up the other 11 zaps?
